CAUCUSES

Critical Infrastructure & Resilience Caucus

The Critical Infrastructure & Resilience Caucus brings together EMAT members to share ideas and discuss strategies for strengthening the systems and services communities rely on every day. Members collaborate to enhance resilience across Texas and support stronger preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery for critical infrastructure.


Emerging Professional Caucus

The Emerging Professional Caucus brings together early-career EMAT members to connect, share experiences, and grow within the field of emergency management. This caucus provides a supportive space to build relationships, develop skills, and engage in discussions that help shape the future of the profession in Texas.


Healthcare Caucus

The Healthcare Caucus brings together EMAT members working in and alongside the healthcare sector to share ideas, collaborate, and strengthen emergency management in healthcare settings. This caucus provides a space to discuss challenges, exchange best practices, and support improved preparedness, response, and recovery across Texas healthcare systems.


Higher Education Caucus

The Higher Education Caucus brings together EMAT members working in and with colleges and universities to share ideas, collaborate, and strengthen emergency management in higher education settings. This caucus provides a forum to discuss challenges, exchange best practices, and support preparedness, response, and recovery across Texas campuses.


K-12 Education Caucus

The K-12 Education Caucus brings together EMAT members focused on emergency management, safety, and security in school districts and campuses. This caucus provides a space to share ideas, collaborate, and address challenges unique to K-12 environments, supporting stronger preparedness, response, and recovery across Texas schools.


Rural Communities Caucus

The Rural Communities Caucus brings together EMAT members who serve rural and small communities across Texas. It provides a space to share ideas, discuss unique challenges, and collaborate on practical solutions that strengthen emergency management capabilities and support preparedness, response, and recovery in rural areas.


Tribal Nations Caucus

The Tribal Nations Caucus brings together EMAT members to support collaboration, share knowledge, and strengthen relationships with Tribal Nations across Texas. It provides a space to discuss priorities, exchange best practices, and enhance preparedness, response, and recovery efforts in partnership with Tribal communities.


Uniformed Services Caucus

The Uniformed Services Caucus brings together EMAT members from the military community, along with other public safety professionals, to share experiences and strengthen collaboration. It provides a forum to exchange ideas and discuss operational challenges while supporting more effective emergency management across Texas.


About EMAT

The Emergency Management Association of Texas is dedicated to the advancement of the field of emergency management both statewide and nationally. To that end, EMAT engages in an array of efforts to advance a statewide emergency management agenda and to promote the professional growth of the emergency management practitioner.
