State and Local Mitigation Planning Policy Guides Updated

30 Jun 2022 11:27 AM | Diane Weidenkopf (Administrator)

On April 19, 2022, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) updated the State and Local Mitigation Planning Policy Guides. The updates incorporate new FEMA grant programs, include a strengthened connection with the Fire Management Assistance Grant Program (FMAG), and better alignment with national initiatives, programs, and FEMA priorities. The updated policies become effective for all plan approvals one year from the official release date, providing a one-year transition period for state and local governments to meet the new requirements.
