New Shelter & Services Program Sessions

27 Feb 2023 2:08 PM | Diane Weidenkopf (Administrator)

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Customs and Border Protection (CPB) will host two, one-hour listening sessions for stakeholders about the new Shelter and Services Program. The program was established by the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act and is designed to support sheltering and related activities provided by non-federal entities to relieve non-citizen overcrowding in short-term CBP holding facilities. FEMA will administer grants or cooperative agreements with tribal nations, state and local governments, and non-governmental organizations (NGO). The program is under the auspices of the DHS Partnerships Center. Pre-registration is required.
