30 May 2024 3:50 PM | Diane Weidenkopf (Administrator)

HHSC has received federal approval for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) recipients to apply for replacement benefits for food lost or destroyed during the storms that began on May 16, 2024.  SNAP recipients in Austin, Chambers, Colorado, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, and Waller counties must apply for replacement benefits by June 17 either on-line or by calling 2-1-1.  SNAP recipients who live in other counties can also apply, but must do so within 10 days of discovering their food was lost or destroyed by going to a local benefits office to request replacement benefits.  WIC recipients may apply to replace food and formula benefits through May 31, 2024, either on-line or by calling 800-942-3678.
