FBI has released its Active Shooter Incidents in the United States in 2018 report

12 Apr 2019 1:21 PM | Diane Weidenkopf (Administrator)

The FBI has released its Active Shooter Incidents in the United States in 2018 report detailing 27 incidents in the US. The FBI defines an active shooter as, “one or more individuals actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a populated area.”  Gang- and drug-related shootings were excluded from the report, as were accidental firearm discharges.

Ten incidents met the federal definition of “mass killing” (three or more killings in a single incident), two of which were in Texas.
