Today, Governor Abbott released The Governor's Report to Open Texas, based on the recommendations of the Strike Force to Open Texas, that brought together nationally recognized medical experts with public- and private-sector business leaders to determine the best way to contain COVID-19 while also adhering to safe standards that will allow the process of opening Texas.  

The Governor urges all Texans to act responsibly as we re-engage in the economy, to continue following all health precautions and sanitizing guidelines, and to care for our vulnerable neighbors.

The process focuses on protecting the most vulnerable populations among us, on nursing home mitigation measures, on ramping up testing, and on scaling up contact tracing of COVID-19.
