FEMA COVID-19 Pandemic Operational Guidance for the 2020 Hurricane Season

20 May 2020 8:09 PM | Diane Weidenkopf (Administrator)

On May 20, 2020, FEMA released the COVID-19 Pandemic Operational Guidance for the 2020 Hurricane Season to help State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial emergency managers and public health officials respond to incidents during the 2020 hurricane season amid the COVID-19 pandemic. While this document focuses on hurricane season preparedness, most planning considerations can also be applied to any disaster operation in the COVID-19 environment, including no-notice incidents, spring flooding and wildfire seasons, and typhoon response.

It is designed to describe response and recovery planning considerations for emergency managers in light of the numerous COVID-19 challenges and create a shared understanding of expectations between FEMA and SLTTs prior to the 2020 hurricane season.
